Hello and good day!

A wet week in the valley. Smiling as I prefer rainclouds over frost-covered ice slicks. It’s a pleasure to be back in the greenhouses again. It’s exciting to see everything slowly come back to life. It feels like we still have an eternity of winter ahead of us but I suspect spring will surprise us quicker than you’d think.

The weather is frightful and cold, so we still have a while yet until our primula crops come to life. In the meantime find solace in our fields of colorful cyclamen and flowering 1gallon red heathers. I daydream of winter anemones and count the buds as they emerge. It’s a fine time of year to plan out expansive displays of flowering daffodils. All of our narcissus have started to emerge and it’s a nice time to get them in the ground before they start to bloom. As the cold days roll on it’s sometimes easy to forget about spring altogether. Luckily our snowdrops have started to flower and there is nothing quite like galanthus to remind you of warmer days.

I say this every season but seriously people, 2023 is going to be an amazing gardening season so it’s time to get excited.

Wishing you all a prosperous and successful New Year. Here we go again!
